– Equipment
Every participant must ensure that his/her equipment does not pose a danger to him/herself or others due to the quality, material used or design.
There needs to be at least one functioning brake on the footbike.
Helmet is mandatory
The protective helmet that applies to the law requirements and safety regulations is mandatory for all athletes, breaking this rule means immediate or subsequent disqualification. Athletes have to wear the helmet properly and for the whole race. We also advise competitors to use gloves.
– Starting Number
Each competitor receives 1x its starting number at registration. The starting number is personal and connected to the participants name and MYLAPS transponder Chip.
Starting number must be clearly visible at the front of the handlebar of the footbike.
This means that none of the equipment may be in the line of sight between the race-officials and the number.
It is not permitted to deliberately change the number, the number may not be folded or cut.
The officials may apply one of the following measures to competitors who ride without a starting number: not being allowed to start, temporarily withdrawing from the race or a penalty of at least 30 seconds.
The number must be secured in such a way that it can be properly read by the officials.
The number may not be covered, not even partially.
– MYLAPS transponder Chip
Each competitor receives a transponder chip at registration. This chip is personal and connected to the participants name and number.
The transponder chip should be mounted as low as possible, on the right side (in front of the driver) on the front fork of the footbike.
Any other mounting location on the footbike or on the participant is not permitted.
A possible measure in case of violation that can be imposed by the officials is: “Not allowed to start”
Participants must hand in their chip to the organization after the last race, otherwise a fine of 50 euros per chip will follow.
– Showing up too late at the start
Participants who are late are not allowed to start.
The race-officials can at any time decide to allow participants who are late to start and still join the race.
– Drop out of the match
Participants who withdraw from the competition are obliged to report this to the timing-officials.
– Shortening the competition by the competition management
If necessary, the officials may reduce the duration, number of laps or distance of the competition just before or during the competition.
All participants will be informed of this.
Behaviour around the course
– Do not distract the officials:
During the competition, spectators, supervisors or participants are not permitted to address the timing-officials and the counters on matters that are not directly relevant to the course of the competition. For example, it is not allowed to ask for the results while the match is still in progress.
Matters that influence the count must be reported (such as participants who have left the competition prematurely). Do this immediately after the competition or at a quiet moment (no approaching participants).
– Detection Zone – the red and green flag
The detection zone is the area where the transponder makes connection to the start/finish line.
This zone is within a radius of five meters around the finish line (that 5 meter also applies to the ends of the finish line). This means that a part outside the course and the timing-officials room also falls under the detection zone. This zone can have two statuses:
green flag = released
red flag = not released
Green flag: the zone has been released, there is no race going on.
The zone is accessible to everyone (even with a transponder), as long as this does not conflict with other rules.
Red flag: the zone is not released, the race is on, or about to start.
You may only be in the detection (finish) zone with a transponder chip and/or footbike*, when:
- Participants are instructed to do this by the officials.
- The competition has started, and you are a participant of the relevant competition. After a participant has finished, s/he is no longer allowed to enter the detection zone.
(* It is not permitted to be in the detection zone with a footbike without a transponder chip, as the officials cannot see whether or not there is a chip on it).
If in doubt, assume that the zone has not been released.
Honoring ceremony
The race is done, you and all others have raced and given what was possible on this day. And now the medal-ceremony shows who was the best competitor today.
Celebrate with us, be a part of this official and special moment for the competitors that have accomplished to be one of the best 3.
Participants who are not present at the awards ceremony lose the right to prizes and bonuses. The organization can decide differently. Participants who leave early must report this to the organization.
Doping
Doping is not allowed. All participants must adhere to the “World Anti-Doping Code”. This can be read at https://www.wada-ama.org/en/what-we-do/world-anti-doping-code.
The list of all prohibited substances can also be found on this website. The participant is obliged to cooperate in any doping investigation. If the participant refuses, he or she will be disqualified.
Match Results
The organization will announce the competition results to all participants as soon as possible.
The results for each participant state:
- the category
- the position within the category (ranking)
- the name of the participant
- the total time
- the number of laps driven and/or the distance
• (and preferably also the lap times)Complaints about the match results
Complaints that may have consequences for the result must be submitted to the competition leader from the moment the last participant has finished until no later than half an hour after the last participant’s arrival.
The protest can be submitted only by the leader of the club/team to the competition leader.
If it concerns the first three places in a certain category, the competition management must make an oral decision before the start of the award ceremony. For the other places, a decision must be made in writing to the complainant and those involved within 7 days, and the chairman of the competition committee must also be informed.
